Welcome to the June Invitational!

Here is how The Children's Post Scrabble Tournaments work.

There are 2 categories - Junior and Senior. Predictably, this is by age. Upto 17 is Junior, and 18 and above is Senior.

Players are matched so that they play people closest in age to themselves. So a 8 year old will not be playing a 14 year old. We take care of that.

1. Your registered ISC handle will be used in the draws. This is your identification  in the tournament.
2. The game settings are: CSW/VOID/20 - CSW dictionary, VOID challenge, 20 minutes per player.
3. You will be emailed a contact list of everyone in the tournament. This has their email id and phone no. You are also connected to all players on a whatsapp group. If you do not receive the email, please check your spam folder. After that, please contact Deepak at 09999270073.
4. In the draws, a time slot will be given for the matches. This is to ensure that people can play at a time that works for them.
5. You and your opponent can match at any time within that time slot. You can talk to them 1:1 and figure out a slot that works for both of you. A match will take about 45 minutes, please plan accordingly.
6. Please post a screenshot of the match such that the scores are CLEARLY VISIBLE on the TCP Scrabble Competition Whatsapp group.
7. If you try to contact your match partner and they don't respond, please let us know. We will treat this as a no-show by them and give you the walkover. You can communicate the walkover to us one hour before the slot is due to end. Until that time, please try to contact them.
8. A game is a no-show if:
      A. The partner does not login for upto 10 minutes after the match's scheduled start time.
      B. The partner does not respond to request for match (like in point 7 above)
      C. The partner adjourns while the game is underway.
9. For all no-shows, the deemed score of the other person is a win with a margin of 100 (That's huge! You don't want that!)

10. Match not played within the time slot: Both players get 0 points.

11. The Invitational is on points system. The points are as under:
      A. Defeat other player with a margin of 100: 4 points
      B. Defeat other player with a margin of 50: 3 points
      C. Defeat other player with a margin lower than 50 points: 2 points

12. After Round 1, the top 8 will go into the quarter finals, 4 into the semi-finals, and then 2 in the finals.

13. If there is a tie in Round 1, a tie breaker will be played. The tie-breaker will be arranged by us and the rules of no-show apply.

14. Round 1 is on Saturday, and the Quarter-finals, Semi-finals and Finals are on Sunday.

15. As always, all semi-finalists get a certificate, and both the winners in the Finals will also get a small cash prize.

All the Best! Get, Set, Go!
