Hello Readers,

Do you know what day it is today? Let me give you a hint. It is the day that celebrates the supreme law of India. The same supreme law that gives us our fundamental rights and tells us our fundamental duties among many other things.

Did you get it?

Its Bhartiya Samvidhan Diwas or the Indian Constitution Day.

It is the day to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India. It was adopted on 26th November 1949 and it came into effect on 26th January 1950. It was declared as the Constitution Day in Oct 2015 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi while laying the foundation stone of the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Statue of Equality in Mumbai. Earlier this day was observed as the Indian Law Day.

What is the Constitution of India: Every country has its constitution. It is the framework of political codes, power and duties of government institutions, and fundamental rights and duties of its citizens. It is the longest written Constitution of any country on Earth. Dr. B. R. Ambedkar is known as the chief architect of our Constitution. Beohar Rammanohar Sinha illustrated the pages of the Constitution.
