Dear Readers

Over the next few days, the privacy debate in India will only heat up. You will read a lot of articles telling you about sovereignty of India, government's rules, etc.

But what are these rules? What do they say? What is the government asking social media companies to do and why?

Today, we have a 3 page exhaustive story that is based on the actual Gazette notification of these rules. You can read the full text of the rules here: 225464.pdf (meity.gov.in)

Do read this story to understand the rules and what they ask the social media giants to do. The report has inputs from Anirudh Bhargava.

We have also presented two related incidents - where the government and social media giants are not in agreement.

And the most important part of this edition is - We have asked you to think and share your thoughts. Don't be in a hurry to decide. All sides to an argument have valid points. We don't want you to take a unilateral side. If you can, present your views on the impact (without any judgement of good or bad) of each decision on us, the people of India.

The lead news, of course, is about Yaas. Amey Haldankar reports.

After the news, we have:

A. Your page - Art by Shabana Begum, Divya Acharya, and K P Harvish

B. Veervar Vijeta - last week's answers and winners and this week's challenges

C. Comic by Comedy Majors

D. Sports News by Ishaan Kaila

Enjoy the edition!

Love

Nidhi aunty
