150-feet long gelatinous strings called Siphonophores were discovered during deep sea exploration expedition conducted by the scientists at the Western Australia Museum. These critters (animals) can grow up to 100-150 feet long, hence making them the longest animals on the Earth.

Siphonophores do not grow as a single body, instead they clone themselves over thousands of times, multiplying their 6 different types of cells again and again. All these cloned cells work together as a team. Discovered during exploration of the deep-sea canyons off Ningaloo

Difference between cloning and reproduction Cloning:

Cloning: A clone can occur naturally or can be produced in a lab. In a clone, the original genetic material of the parent is not lost, and an exact same copy of the genetic material is produced. e.g. bacteria, amoeba and most single celled organisms reproduce via asexual means (division of a cell into two – distributing everything equally)

Sexual reproduction: It is the type of reproduction where two different cells fuse together to create a new genetically similar but not an identical cell. It is not an exact copy of the original cells and some genetic material is lost in the fusion. e.g. a human baby.
