Thair Thair ke chaliye, Jab ho door Padaav
Doob jaat Adhiyaav mein, Daud chalti naav
Meaning: When the road is long and the destination is far, one must rest often. The boat that races to the other end of the river forgets that the middle of the river is deep and needs a different kind of maneuvering, so it is very likely to drown.
Usage: बेटा, अभी तो नयी दुकान खोली है, अभी कुछ महीने इसी पर ध्यान दो. ठैर ठैर के चालिये, जब हो दूर पड़ाव।
Another saying that has the same message is - जल्दी का काम शैतान का. (Jaldi ka kaam Shaitan ka).
Meaning: Only the devil acts in a hurry.
