We were selected for AWEInspiring Program 2021

The Children's Post of India was selected for the AWEInspiring Program.

This is a 3 month mentoring program conducted jointly by Atal Incubation Centre - Banasthali Vidyapeeth, and the North India Office of the US Embassy.

We are grateful for the opportunity.

The Children's Post wins the Go Global Awards 2021 in the Ed Tech Category

We want to shout and scream that our dear TCP has made it the list of top 8 products in the Ed-Tech category globally and is the top ed-tech start-up from India!

Super cool, isn’t it? Wait, the story gets even better!

International Trade Council is a global body that was founded in 1956. It works in 179 countries all over the world. The objective of International Trade Council is to facilitate business across various countries and to work with the governments and Chambers of Commerce in individual countries to promote businesses in that area.

Every year, it hosts a competition for start-ups that have the potential to go global. This means that they are looking for start-ups that can work in various countries successfully and whose product or service will be liked in many countries of the world.

This year, they received over 6000 entries for the Start-up Contest!!! More than 780 firms were in the shortlist!

Infogain Edumedia, the publisher of The Children’s Post of India, was a frontrunner in the Ed Tech category. This means that we were among the top 8 products in the Ed-Tech category globally and the top ed-tech start-up from India!

The jury comprised (had) members from the governments of many countries.

This award means that The Children’s Post of India is not just a daily print at home newsletter for children in India. More countries would like to have a daily newsletter like this for children in their own country.

For TCP, this is our first global recognition, and it means a lot to us.

While we do love the faith that global leaders have put in our ability to go global, what we want to do first, is to reach every part of India. Already, we reach 11,800 schools and 2.2 million children in all parts of India. But there are thousands of schools and millions of dear readers that we can’t wait to meet and get to know better. Thank you, dear readers! You are the wind beneath our wings (the reason that we can fly). Here’s to a long and happy journey together. We hope to be a fond memory in your hearts when you grow up, and for many years before that, the words that you wake up to.

The Children's Post, 26th Oct 2021

 Dear Readers

Our nation paid a heartfelt tribute to our beloved cartoonist, illustrator, humourist, and the creator of ‘You Said It’ (a daily cartoon strip which appeared in an Indian newspaper for 7 decades), on his 100th birth anniversary on Sunday, 24th Oct 2021. The Padma Bhushan, Padma Vibhushan, and Magsaysay Award winner        , Rasipuram Krishnaswami Laxman or Doodu as he was affectionately called by everyone, used to get in trouble a lot for drawing lizards crawling on the walls, dry twigs in bird’s beaks, earthworm slowly making it across the floor, all while his teacher taught in the class. He would be scolded for not paying attention but was always praised for his beautiful illustrations. He loved crows and found them beautiful, colourful, and highly intelligent beings. Most of his illustrations featured crows along with the quintessential ‘Common Man’. If you are interested and not yet acquainted with his works, visit RK Laxman to familiarize yourself with his work.

It has also been 100 years since the completion of the first research/mapping expedition of Mount Everest took place. More on that on page 2.

Dear Readers

Aadaab!

Today is Eid e Milad, also known as Milad un nabi and Mawlid. It marks the birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammad, the founder of Islam. It is an important day for the Muslim population all over the world. Lights, decorations, eating sweets and other yummy-yummy foods, and sending good wishes to our near and dear ones are some of the ways by which Eid e Milad is celebrated.

The history of Mawlid goes back to the early days of Islam (somewhere around 622 CE) when people would come together to read poetry and sing verses to honour Prophet Mohammad. Following is one of such poetic pieces written in his honour.

So, I was scarcely able to look at him at all.

The lights from his light are drowned in his light, and

his face shines out like the Sun and Moon in one.

 Hello racing readers,

Hope you all had a great Navaratri/Dussehra festival. We did!

This week we did typical fall weather things, like going for walks, listening to crunchy fall leaves crackling sounds under our feet, and apple picking. We picked multiple varieties of apples, all of which were absolutely fresh, juicy, and, mouthwatering. Our in-house baker baked apple pie, apple cobbler, and apple spice cake, and he has a few more items in his baking list!!

Pumpkin picking and corn maze are next in the list!

You all have a nice and crispy weekend too J

Dear Readers

Today's editorial is a little different as I am experiencing the inevitable.

Words abandoned me today

I think without thoughts!

Any thoughts? Nay!

My mind is blank,

like a laugh-less little prank.

I try so hard,

but today writing seems tough,

And all my ideas look like a boulevard

of absolute fluff.

My daughter says I have a writers’ block,

give it a rest until some idea says – knock-knock!

The Children's Post, 5th Oct 2021

Dear Readers

Once upon a time there were two brothers – Quark and Neutrino. They loved each other a lot and

were inseparable, but they couldn’t have been more different. Where Quark was outgoing and social and would easily bond with others, Neutrino on the other hand, found it very hard to bond with others. He would often wonder why God made him like this. The amount of fun his brother would have with others would leave him feeling lonelier and sadder.

He asked God one day, “Dear God, why did you make me like this? I find it hard to interact with others and I feel lonely all the time. Please help me, I am so sad.”

God said, “Dear Neutrino, there is no need for you to feel sad. I made everyone and everything for a reason and no one and nothing exists in the universe without a purpose. And you, child, have a very important role in this world. You are born of the fierce reaction in the Sun. You are the primary building block of this universe and are present everywhere. You might be small and weightless, but this universe would not exist without you. And while your brother seems very important for the universe, that does not make your existence any less important. So, remember that and always be happy.

Neutrino felt at ease after listening to God. Just then the doorbell rang. When he opened the door, he saw three children standing at his doorstep. “Hi, who are you?” “We are Electron, Muon, and Tao. God told us about you. Do you want to play?” said the three in unison. Feeling immensely happy, Neutrino silently thanked God and began playing with his new friends.

Humans are also like quarks and neutrinos; some can bond well with others while others find it extremely taxing (difficult). You might find some examples at your home. It doesn’t matter if you are a quark or a neutrino, everyone appreciates a little kindness and compassion.
